Last year lifelong rider and horse owner, Viva Durno, approached the Engage team with the goal of launching an eCommerce website that would provide customers with the best possible selection of equestrian wear and equipment, chosen with the type of care and attention to detail normally only found in high-end fashion retailers.
The first step in the journey was crafting a suitable logo to match the already chosen brand name, Equistead. Designer Brent Nygaard went with a stylised and simplified horse’s profile, paired with a classic font to ensure a timeless and sophisticated feel for the brand. The use of a rich chocolate brown in the logo adds a touch of old-world elegance and echoes the brand’s equine connection.
Anticipated high website traffic volumes, and the complex functionality required to cater for international currencies and languages, meant that Magento content management system was the best eCommerce platform choice for Equistead.com to be developed on. The site was also integrated with the payment gateway Worldpay, which supports over 120 currencies.
The newly developed logo and corporate identity was then pulled through the site design, which the Engage team now continues to maintain and enhance. All visual elements for the website, including new products, range launches, sales and promotional imagery are regularly updated for this fully mobile responsive site.
As Equistead.com’s online branding partner, Engage was also responsible for the set up, strategy and day-to-day management of the brand’s Facebook, Google+ and Twitter social media profiles for a six month period. Other online marketing activities include Google AdWords and Display Advertising campaigns.
