Original Mason’s is a brand of premium, ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages that combines quality local wine, real fruit juice and spring water into an innovative new drink that’s taking the local market by storm – the sparkling spritzer. We’ve been working with Original Mason’s since the brand’s inception in 2016. Our initial work included the design of all brand collateral – right from the logo, through to the packaging. After some flavour adjustments and improvements to the brand’s four flagship flavours, it was time to update the identity in line with the brand’s new direction.

The Result

The project hit particularly close to home because we were essentially working on our initial branding. After about a year in the marketplace, based on feedback from consumers and the various flavour improvement to the drinks, the positioning of the brand needed to change, to resonate more with the market in which the product was finding the most traction.

We teamed up with a local illustrator, Atang Tshikare, whose style really captured the look and feel that the client wanted. The colours were made bolder, and the general take on all the other collateral items was loosened up and made more ‘friendly’. The end result was a brighter and bolder brand that spoke to the right market.
